[Bruno was just about to actually get up and answer the door, but Giorno pokes his head into the room faster than Bruno can stand up from his couch. So, he settles back against it.]
You might as well come in, Giorno.
how do you git gud at being crushed by buckles tho
[THERE'S MOM. Everything about him brightens immediately. Yay.]
[He scoots in the door and comes to sit next to Bruno on the couch, perching on the edge and looking at him curiously for a moment before wrapping him up in a Very Legitimate Hug.]
[He gestures a little, then resumes the full hug.]
Everyone's being honest. And it's going okay, and I'm happy, and I was thinking about you, so I thought I'd come and be honestly happy in your direction. Because you're important and should be appreciated a lot!
[It's only approximately half a second after the question leaves Bruno's mouth that he realizes he probably should avoid asking questions of Giorno right now. That's just not fair. But it's too late at this point to retract that one.]
[He answers clearly and crisply, not the slightest bit embarrassed. If he'd been worried about questions, he certainly wouldn't have come to Bruno now. The danger is obvious — or it would be if anything about Bruno was dangerous to him anymore. As it is, he cheerfully accepts what could easily become an interrogation.]
I'm usually worried about that. But sometimes I'm not sure I should do anything about it. So now I'm doing something about it.
I'm not sure that's entirely possible. [Bruno pulls away from the hug some to sit facing Giorno a little better.] I know you don't see it the same way that I do. You see it as a given that I should have a place with you because of all that we went through together and because we are famiglia, but that's not enough, Giorno. My time has come and gone, and you don't need me as you used to.
So, whether you recognize it as one or not, you made a conscious decision that you want me here, and I will always be grateful for that.
[Bruno smiles. As always, it's understated if one is just looking at the shape of his mouth, barely more than a slight curve of lips, but it shines brilliantly in his eyes.]
[It's always so nice when Bruno smiles. It happens so rarely, but it feels warm all the same, like sitting in a patch of sun long enough to start drowsing. Giorno curls up close again, pulling Bruno's arm tighter around him.]
Even if I were to say no, I don't believe you're going to give me much choice in the matter.
[He's teasing, of course, as he lets Giorno settle back in, but there is some truth to that. When it comes to demonstrating his affection, Giorno doesn't believe in half-measures.]
buckles both of us up
Of course. You know I always do for you.

[And he zooms down the hall and knocks on the door and pokes his head in with a questioning noise. Where is mom . . .]

You might as well come in, Giorno.

how dare you question me
[Not that Bruno has particular objections, but usually there's conversation before jumping straight into hugging.]
What's this for?
[Still, Bruno wraps an arm around Giorno all the same.]
i DARE
[He hums a little, contemplating while hugging. A true multitasker.]
You? Because I love you. But also me, because I love you.
i'm fucking offended by this lack of TRUST
I love you, too, Giorno. But that still doesn't explain what's brought this on.
you can take your offense and stick it in your pipe and smoke it
[He gestures a little, then resumes the full hug.]
Everyone's being honest. And it's going okay, and I'm happy, and I was thinking about you, so I thought I'd come and be honestly happy in your direction. Because you're important and should be appreciated a lot!
wow this level of disrespect...IN MY OWN INBOX
[It's only approximately half a second after the question leaves Bruno's mouth that he realizes he probably should avoid asking questions of Giorno right now. That's just not fair. But it's too late at this point to retract that one.]

i can't believe this
Giorno, of all the things you don't have to ever doubt, it's whether or not I feel appreciated. I always do.

But I can always appreciate you more.

. . . It doesn't seem like a choice. Not that I don't believe you, I just . . .
[He taps his own chest with a knuckle.]
This is where you belong.

And that's where I'll always be.

So you have to let me spoil you.
